Hackintosh
Is it even worth it to update a school on an 8th author paper that has been accepted for publication or is it a useless acheivement?
future_doc
This is an acheivement and not useless!
MSB
When it comes to papers. First and second are the most important. Third anywhere to 100 is pretty equivalent. However, 8th is better than nothing.
future_doc
8th is far more than 8x better than what most of us have.
future_doc
I would update them. Just say that you have a publication in so and so journal. Really no need to mention you are the 8th author. Excellent suggeston.
Hackintosh
sorry to confuse you guys, its not my 8th paper (i wish) but I'm an 8th author on a manuscript.
rmitch8
I would absolutely send an update letter telling them about your publication. It proves that you did something meaningful in the lab, and it will get the adcoms thinking about you again. Almost no arguments against sending it. Good luck and congrats on the publication.
