Don't know what to do...

Hey guys,

 

I'm completing the first part of the application (where you submit and pay). I'm done school so I need to fill out the current employment/non academic section for people who have taken a year off.

 

Currently I'm the primary caregiver for a sick family member- so who would I list as my verifier? The place where I fill out a verifiers name actually says "employer".. but if I listed my family member I know it looks and sounds weird.. should I still do it??

 

I don't really have an employer or anything for this type of activity...

yeah. i'm basically stuck trying to think of something... i spent the summer studying for MCATs and now i'm looking for a job, except i'm trying to find a nice way to put it!

hope: the sick family member is your employer and is normal and appropriate in the circumstances. It is no big deal, certainly not, weird and say it as it is.

 

dreamer: It is normal to take the summer off and study for MCAT. Say it as it is. I did this and certainly many other applicants have too. And then you started looking for a job, straightforward and just say it. And re MCAT, you have no obligation to submit it or discuss your score.

thanks fd! mcgill takes a long time to reply to emails now (5 business days!!!) so it helps to have some input from other students.
