HBP
You probably pitch it to doctors you know.
Lactic Folly
Sometimes you see them in the local medical association's classifieds: http://www.albertadoctors.org/Classifieds/Mar10_11
moo
Very few people actually "buy" a practice nowadays. Most old school docs couldn't give their practice away. however, some still do advertise... whether anyone actually takes them up on the offer is another story. HBP
Why waste money when you basically have a full practice as a GP as soon as you open shop. You probably get a much older patient group when you buy a practice as well-->time consuming.

HBP
No doubt it has its merits. I would probably prefer to set up shop on my own though...
