Here'sHopin
Hello, Can anyone recommend any good obstetrics resources to help prepare for clerkship and maybe keep into residency? I'm interested in finding both a textbook and a hand guide. Thanks for your suggestions. =)
Julie
I don't know if this fit into what you're looking for, but to prepare for clerkship I liked the case files series. They're really fun to read, an agglomeration of about 60 cases of things you will need to know, with good explanations on each. They're not really a reference text though, they're more books you read from cover to cover. They don't cover everything, but I think they cover the important stuff & if you read it all (relatively easy to do), you'll be prepared. Their main feature, in my opinion, is that they present the topic in an entertaining and memorable way. For obs-gyn, I think I used mainly the Case Files Obs-Gyn and Toronto Notes, & supplemented anything missing with my favorite online sites (ie uptodate). I had a good pocket book, but it's French (Mémo-périnatalité). It can be purchased online at the Laval U bookstore, in case anyone is interested. Lactic Folly
Second the Case Files. The format helps those clinical pearls stick in one's mind. It's not a pocket book though - you could try the CCS series http://www.ccspublishing.com/ccs/
