UBC and Toronto rads

Recommended Posts

For UBC, one of the radiologists who has really taken on the role of working with the med students is Dr. Savvas Nicolaou. He works predominantly at VGH in the Emergency radiology rotation, but also does both cardiac and musculoskeletal imaging. He's got lots of research projects in gear at any given time, and would definitely be someone to work with, particularly if you are interested in doing any research at UBC. A lot of his projects revolve around the dual energy CT scanner, and he's always working on new projects related to this. The two areas that he's really done a lot with this include gout imaging and cardiac imaging using the dual energy scanner.

I don't know who is on the UBC selection committee, but I definitely think that if you are interested in UBC, that doing an elective here, getting involved in a research project, and possibly working with Dr. Nicolaou would all help.
