consult medicine vs CTU

How is consult medicine rotation different from CTU med at University of Toronto?

-one is consults

-one is wards

Yes, I know that but I was wondering what the differences are in terms of what you do as a clerk on daily basis. For example, at one of the hospitals in U.S. if you were on a consult team all you would do is admit patients (no following up or anything else). Is it the same at U of T?

Consult rotations at UofT are mainly doing consults for medical conditions on patients already admitted to surgical or other non-medical services. The admissions are usually seen by the CTU teams themselves.

don't think you have to do call when on consults but i could be wrong...

The residents do call for med consults, which is home call. It would be tough for med students to do call as well (would have to call 2 people in from home).
