igeorgex
I've been using bunny ears for ages, but I just used the method showed in the TED talk (the reverse loop thingy) and it made my knot so much tighter..... this is especially helpful when you own a billion pairs of sperrys and the damn leather laces come undone every 3 minutes. and I've ALWAYS wondered about a way to make the lace sit horizontally, because I hate the way it looks when it's vertical. thank you for this life enhancing lesson pm101 haha
Violet
u mean number 2 (bunny ears) right? Haha, yes, bunny ears FTW I may have to try the loop business when I'm not feeling completely lazy (aka never).
thatonekid
Loop method. I knew about the bunny ears method, but it always took me longer to do than just making the loop.
kkentm
I just discovered that the fast method we've been referring to is actually called the Ian Knot and was invented by a guy named Ian Fieggan in 1982. Here's a link to his site: http://www.fieggen.com/shoelace/ianknothistory.htm

I've got the knot down now even though I switched it around as I tie my base knot the other way around. lol
