Guest anvah
Hey, How does McGill calculate GPA? Do they use all courses taken? Last 2 years? Or some other type of weighted formulae? Thanks, Anvah
Guest dandalex
Hi, to answer your question, McGill takes into account your last 90 credits. From there they simply do an arithmetic average. Sommation of (GPA X Credit) divided by the last 90 credits will give you your cGPA. I am pretty sure they take every into account. (for people who take more classes outside their degree..) AlexH There has been a thread on this already, you can look it up p084.ezboard.com/fpremed1...=125.topic
Guest anvah
Hey, What's considered a credit? In my university, a course is 1/2 a credit usually. Anvah
Guest dandalex
In Quebec, hence for McGill, a university credit reprensents 15 hours of in-class attendance or alot more if representing lab/activity hours per. Most classes are 3 credits in undergrad, they run for 15 weeks with usually 3 hours of class per week for a total of 45 hours for a stardard 3 credit class. Hence a Bacchelors' degree in Quebec is comprised of 90 credits (usually) because of CEGEP. The standard Canadian degree is 4 years, so 120 credits. If your major is 3 years long, that is what they will analyze. Hope this helps. AlexH
