Guest byjude
Do McGill undergrad or grad students count as Quebec residents? According to the province of Quebec official residency information link on the McGill website, it says in order to be a Quebec resident, you must have lived in Quebec for 12 months and not been a student. How does this work for students?
Guest mstr splinter
As I understand it, you won't be considered a Quebec resident unless you do at least one year of your degree part-time, or stay for a full year after you graduate. For the purpose of applying to McGill, I've heard that if you move to Quebec in July of the year you apply (i.e. for entry the following August) then they will treat your application as one from Quebec--assuming, of course, you are resident for the next 12 months, and not a full time student. Guest byjude
Is that true? Huh.. I have a potential open-ended job offer in Montreal that I've considered pursuing after my Masters if I don't get into Ontario schools next year. So if I move to Quebec next May/June I could apply as an in-province student for the next cycle? Nice.
