medhopeful64
So I just broke my glasses and I've only had them for 3 years. I don't know if its just me, but they've gotta last longer than that! My glasses have suffered all sorts of abuse from me (falling, etc) so I guess this shouldn't be a surprise. Anyone know of a decent company that sells glasses that would last me quite awhile? Nothing too expensive, less than $200 for sure (I got ripped off with my current pair!!) thanks! Lactic Folly
You just missed their most recent free glasses promotion, but Clearly Contacts has this promotion every once in a while - I'd never bought glasses online before, but I got my latest pair from them for only the price of shipping ($15 - can't beat that!), including one free exchange because I didn't like the style I originally got... Quality seems about the same as other places. http://www.clearlycontacts.ca/glasses/cCouponEligibleGlasses.html

psychoswim
Tempting... Don't know if I have my prescription though :/ I saw quite a few that look good, but I have so much trouble finding frames in an actual store I'm a bit worried how online would work.. Renin
I can't find frames in store; I've only worn on-line frames since med started Free returns is also very nice.
ellorie
Zenni Optical. I buy all my glasses from there. They last years, and the cost is around $30 or so including shipping. Google it and the website will come up. They do your exact prescription and everything. It's actually not a scam.
psychoswim
I just ordered a pair from Zenni, $19 with shipping sounds good and worst case I haven't lost much! Can't wait to see how they turn out.

Yuoujkd
I got my son’s eyeglasses from Zenni Optical. They provide different types of prescription glasses from $6.95. My son is picky, but he can always find the ones he likes on Zenni easily since they have a large selection for children’s eyeglasses. At their prices, I can afford multiple pairs of glasses for my son in case he may break them.

ellorie
I can't tell, but don't let it put you off I'm NOT a shill, and Zenni is awesome.
medhopeful64
Thanks ellorie for the suggestion. How do I get my reimbursement after buying glasses online? (since I am covered for a certain amount by my student health plan). Do I show them my receipt?
Lactic Folly
You submit your invoice the same way you would if you bought from a brick-and-mortar store.
psychoswim
I got my glasses from Zenni today, they're awesome! I'll have to get used to the lack of anti-glare treatment but I didn't want to pay the extra. I'm planning on ordering another pair shortly, something completely different. ellorie
I always get the anti-glare - it's so worth it for me. That reminds me - I also want to order a new pair. I LOVE the colourful acrylic frames the best.
psychoswim
I got acrylic frames, looking at another pair now. I was going to get a clear & black pair, but now thinking about getting clear. Oh decisions! I'm so glad I found this thread
ellorie
I know! It feels so decadent being able to own multiple pairs of glasses, at least it does for me. When I was paying through the nose for glasses, I had to just wear them until they literally disintegrated on my face
psychoswim
I'm going crazy... I'm seriously looking at these striped purple and black frames (#237617)! But I'm a little worried about how they'll turn out in real life.. Or possibly these clear ones (#222123). I kept having to get my old frames readjusted every few weeks because the plastic wouldn't hold anymore, won't have to anymore!
