kylamonkey
Researchers in the US called pharmacies in low-income and affluent neighborhoods posing as 17-yr-olds. They asked if the Plan B pill was available, and if it was OK for them to purchase it (17-yr-olds can legally purchase it). "Plan B is either unavailable or “hidden” in 20% of pharmacies. When it is available, people at the pharmacy are misinforming 17 year olds that they can’t have it anyway 20% of the time. They seem more likely to do so in poor neighborhoods, where a disproportionate number of teen pregnancies occur. All of this would be improved if the drug were just known to be available over-the-counter for everyone." http://motherjones.com/kevin-drum/2011/12/report-plan-b-unavailable-third-time?utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed
