meds2015
I'm a first year med student and I'm looking for summer research position in toronto (most probably in sick kids). How do I go about looking for accomodation in that area for 3 months? Thanks for the help.
Jochi1543
Check Kijiji. I'm sure lots of students are locked into year-long leases yet would like to leave town for the summer and could use a subletter.
pingu
You could also check out living on res. Innis in particular is nice, since you get your own space but you have a kitchen (share it with 3 other people...possibly less in summer).
meds2015
Thank you for the ideas guys. Now, I need some advice. I want to do research at Sick Kids for its reputation and I believe it will help me in my career in the long run. But, I'm guessing you dont get paid much. It will be something around $4000 for 3 months based on rough calculation. Housing in Toronto can be expensive. Should I still take it up, if I get any summer position, even though I'll not be able to save much from my summer? Or should I work in smaller cities, such as Hamilton, where the cost of living will be cheaper and I can save some money? The scholarships or summer studentships atmpost pay $5000. I'm so confused. Any advice would be appreciated
bhollen76
Why did you choose that area for your studies ? There's a new company profile out there. Looks interesting: http://www.fastmr.com/prod/319857_medical_device_companies_analysis.aspx
