Extremely, extraordinarily unlikely (but possible). With the number of people who watch porn, the government would have warehouses the size of football fields to stash all the confiscated computers. Most likely, it would be on a number only URL whose address is shared secretly by some members of the babby-diddler-sick-perv community and you may even need a password to get in. Police usually need a lead from an "insider" or a plant to find these sites, as, for some reason, they don't show up on Google. Surf away without worries. You will not "accidentally stumble" on kiddie porn. And the Univ cannot censor your academic independence by blocking or monitoring the types of websites where you do research. There was an idiot retired Cegep prof in Montreal who brought his computer to a shop for repairs. It was loaded with kiddie porn - shop owner called the cops, computer was seized, he was charged criminally, ultimately pleaded guilty, had claimed to have a 'research' interest (yah right), he and his family live under this shame. And like GPA, your IP address will follow you forever so anybody who does this must be prepared to pay the price. Once police find just 1 address, the ripple effect can lead to other addresses going back years - which is a good thing. A man alone entering UK, Canada or USA from a country where there is known to be child sex will be asked questions and at any sign of nervousness, his computer, etc will be examined.
