aaronjw
hmmm I am not aware of any that easy. I can reel off an 80+ paper without much effort but damn so I work for my 90's. Although I did finish two courses last year with 90's that were completely research-based essay courses (incl. exams) but I definitely worked hard for those marks. Falling
Essay courses are usually easy 80, impossible 90.
aaronjw
Oh and I call bullshit on all students who say they routinely get 90's on papers that are longer than 1 page lol
totallyawesome
Hmm that sucks. It just shows how today's premed admissions system discourages a broad education.
totallyawesome
I was taught English in grade 12 by a published author. His "excellent" on an essay was an 85. I don't understand these high school students with mid to high nineties in English.
Falling
I feel like TAs go out of their way to dock points on essays.

I don't understand these high school students with mid to high nineties in English. I have a couple kids on my football team who were telling me they got 90 last year in English. I demanded to see their report cards because what I see/hear/read from them didn't add up with what they were telling me lol
totallyawesome
I don't trust TAs to mark. They don't know how to add. I got my CHEM1001 test remarked by the prof and I went from an 89 to a 98.

bbsare
Easy as in not impossible to get over 90. Were you looking for an upper level year course? Unless you're very strong at essay writing, (and even if you are), a 90 isn't easily achievable in many of these courses based on my experience. Most of my classes this year have been paper based POLS courses, and I've received an A plus on only 1 paper so far, despite having had the highest marks in about 3 courses (still no 90). Goku
Easy as in not impossible to get over 90. I got a 95 in the final SOSC 1801 essay. But I think it's more dependant on the TA than the course.
totallyawesome
I don't know how people manage the anticipation for med school applications. I'm just applying for an SOS position and I feel like I'm dying.

bruhh
I got a 95 in the final SOSC 1801 essay. But I think it's more dependant on the TA than the course. I got 75% on my first essay in HUMA1160 Swithed to another TA who was known as more generous. Got 100% on the next 2 essays.
totallyawesome
What SOS position?Er a PASS leader
Falling
Er a PASS leader Those positions seem like the most work. I may help interview peer tutor applicants on Sunday. I haven't decided yet if I'm going to go
totallyawesome
I'd like the extra $$$. I also applied to be a PT but I'm already holding an SOS position so we shall see.
Falling
As a PT, I basically do nothing unless there is a Chem1000/1001 test that week. Occasionally someone will ask a question about biol 2020. Rest of the time I can study. Emailed the 2070 course director around noon about the course, if we'd get a credit/prereq waiver if they cancel it. No reply. Thanks Obama. totallyawesome
Do you have any idea how competitive the pass position would be? Ugh I really hope that this gets rapped up soon because I was planning to take 2070 in the summer.
Falling
Depends on the course. I think you'll be fine if you already have an SOS position. I am so confident they are going to screw us over 2070. I'm already preparing to leave york. Terrible life decision.
totallyawesome
How likely is it that they'll cancel it? I think you'd have a good case for waiving the prerequisite of 2070. The bio dept doesn't seem too strict about prereqs from my experience.
totallyawesome
I want to live in a world where mentioning a battle with mental illness in an interview doesn't hinder your impression any more than diabetes. Ugh **DELETED**. aaronjw and Falling
Falling
Bio department is becoming stricter on prereqs. Anyways, I haven't gotten a resposne back form Western, but I doubt they will use that year in their B2, so it screws me there as well.
