Guest nonce
Im not sure which forum this should be in, so ill post it here. I was wondering how the carms process works? From what i can gather, it is similar to application to medical schools. That is, an individual, after taking certain electives, decides which residency spots they would most like to 'match' into. They note this in their application. They are then invited to interview at schools that contain these residency programs (do schools invite applicants, or, do the applicants apply to different programs?). Through some sort of matching process, schools list their preferences for students they wish to fill the residency spots (how does this work?). Applicants are then provided with the spots that they have matched into. Is this the basic process, or am i out to lunch? Furthermore, what happens to those applicants who do not match into any specialty?
Guest Ian Wong
I'm going to move this out of the Interviews forum into the CaRMS forum... In a nutshell, you've summed everything up pretty well. Here's an old thread in the CaRMS forum that addresses your questions: pub125.ezboard.com/fpremed101frm25.showMessage?topicID=24.topic Ian
