Course weight question

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm entering my undergrad coursework into UCAN, but I'm slightly confused by the Course Weights listed in the application. What should I select for a year-long course (worth 1 credit at my home university)? I'm not sure if I should select '6 credits = 1.00' or '1 credit = 0.27'? Similarly, for a 0.5 credit at my home university, should I select '3 credits, 1 semester = 0.5'? Confused about credits vs. weights as written in this application...

Thanks for any insight!

So in alberta a half course(one semester) is worth 3 credits. So five courses gives you 15 credits a semester. A "one semester" course is also called a half course equivalent which is equal to 0.5 full course equivalents. So a full year course is worth 1 and a half year course is worth 0.5
