Canadian interview season

Recommended Posts

Does any know the usual interview months for Canadian schools (CaRMs)? I'm only interested in BC and Ontario if that makes a difference. Will the interview months be different for US students compared to Canadian students?

The national interview period (1st round) for 2013 for CMGs (and equivalents) was

January 19 - February 10, 2013

As a general rule, you're looking at a (defined) four week period in late January / early February.

(Dates may vary somewhat for IMGs)

Thanks. I read that part on carms:

http://www.carms.ca/eng/r1_1stIteration_e.shtml

**January 19 - February 10, 2013

National interview period

Interviews for current-year Canadian medical school graduates from out-of-town universities are conducted during this three-week period. Interviews for applicants at their own schools and for international medical graduates are coordinated separately with no national specific time period.**

Are you 100% sure that the January 19 - feb 10 2013 dates also referred to US graduates (CMG equivalents?). So all the US MDs would have interviewed at Canadian schools during that time as well correct?

So these socials are basically informal gatherings between the candidates and the residents and program director. They're usually in the night, at the bar/dinner.

As for which schools, it really depends on the program and it differs between different specialties.

also depends on any given year as well.

and all of this depends of course on first round vs second round of CARMS.
