MCC Self-Administered Exams worthwhile doing?

Recommended Posts

that's surprising. did they not reflect the style or level of questions in the actual thing?

Yes and no...its hard to explain. Might be worth doing them tho; I did see one or two questions in the actual exam word for word.

They are useless. Yet another MCC money grab.

You don't need them. If you are a CMG you will be fine on this exam.

I agree with the poster above. I too tried way to hard on this exam. You will feel crappy coming out of the exam but everyone passes. I wish I just enjoyed the free time last year. Two weeks of my life I will never get back...

Don't give the MCC more money than required.

The part 1 exam is a formality. If you can read English(or French), can understand the socialist ethics of Quebec, and can press a button, you'll pass.

Just to clarify, no question on the mccqe1 are specific to quebec (or to any province for that matter) ;)

"Everyone passes..." but isn't that just because eVERYONE studies for this test, and thus by law of nature MUST PASS? all my seniors say, oh lmcc -- it's a joke, don't even need to study for it. but then i'm like, "but you studied!"

Let me clarify.

After writing the exam I would not have studied as long as I did. I don't think the studying I did really added much to my overall performance. All of this is in hindsight after writing and passing the exam.

I kind of had the same reaction - I mean studying did let me pick up a few things. Questions seems usually relatively easy or I had completely no clue what they were after (ha - hopefully a lot more of the former)
