WtsupDoc?
Hi All, I'm really interested in infectious disease, and am considering this speciality in my future. There doesn't seem to be much ID talk on PM101. What are your thoughts on competitiveness of securing a residency and ID job prospects. Thanks! Little.Wing
Hi All, I'm really interested in infectious disease, and am considering this speciality in my future. There doesn't seem to be much ID talk on PM101. What are your thoughts on competitiveness of securing a residency and ID job prospects. Thanks! Hey! I'm also really interested in ID stuff too; having worked with some doctors in the field, they have told me that it is a pretty competitive subspeciality! You should first figure out which specialty/residency you want to do first (IM or Paeds) then go the route of a fellowship to do a subspeciality in ID! I think there were some threads in primary care a while back talking about the competitiveness of this that I remember. I'll try to link it if I can find it! WtsupDoc?
Thanks Little Wing. I have also heard the same, more or less. I'd like to take the IM route - I'm particularly interested in the joint ID/Med micro residency at Mac. Anyone have experience with this program?
