Core rotation before carms?

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I have a quick question related to the order of clerkship rotations. To match to a competitive speciality, is it vital that you have that specialty's core rotation completed at your home school before the fall carms deadline?

In particular I'm wondering about having the Emerg core before the fall of my final year...thanks

Yes. If I understand the question correctly, you'd want to make sure you've done that core rotation BEFORE the CaRMS deadline. Even if you've done electives in it its helpful to have exposure at your home school and get some letters from there.

I know for Internal Medicine at least, most (if not all programs) like you to have a letter from your Core CTU at your home school.
