Should I apply? (OOP)

Recommended Posts

Hello there,

I am not too familiar with the UofM applications. Should I apply with these stats?

- AGPA 4.18

- operative MCAT 10.63

- two published publications; many submitted publications (one co-first in a good journal, one submitted first); many conference abstracts (second last author though)

- Pending MSc and many work experience in academia/research

- No rural status

Also, what exactly determines the academic coefficient?

Thank you in advance.

Here are the stats for the last few years:

Your parents growing up rurally means nothing on your application.

The academic coefficient is dependent on how many publications you have, and if you are first/second/third author, etc.

Here is the applicant information bulletin:

It is definitely your MCAT holding you back. IIRC, OOPS average MCAT was something like 36? Your GPA is fine - it is similar to what mine was when I was accepted as OOP. I also had similar research experience (MSc, about 5 pubs, only 1 1st author, lots of presentations, abstracts, work experience), but my MCAT was something around 12.5 (39R). You could try again, but if you are set on UMan, you may need to re-write and do better on the MCAT.
