ophtho_gunner
What do you guys make of this ? More certificates were issued to IMGs than CMGs this year, does this reflect the fact that less CMGs are entering and finishing their residencies compared to IMGs? can we deduce that this represents the trend with worse future carms match rates for CMGs and ultimately practice certificates for CMGs ? If it is true, worse days lie ahead for CMGs with IMG takeover of Canadian health system. http://www.cpso.on.ca/CPSO/media/documents/Registration/Reports/Registering-Success2013.pdf
advair250
You should read more carefully, all that means is more physician registration. Simply why IMG's are higher, are fully trained physicians who did their training in the US, are coming across the border to practice up north. peace2012
What I find scarier is that 17 90-99 year olds are deciding to practice medicine lol
GrouchoMarx
More IMGs are coming into Ontario from abroad than CMGs are finishing residency. Does that paper count US doctors as IMGs? I think that over-recruitment of IMGs is a bad thing for patients and the profession in general, not to mention the specialties that recruit a lot of IMGs. Take a look at those specialties - those tend to be the ones with less professional stature than the others.
leviathan
It says Ontario graduates, not CMGs.

That refers to their total membership. Those 90 year olds were already registered back when they were practicing. They would now be searchable as "inactive members".
