benge88
Hey folks, For the fashionably inept - a little help is requested... (female) I'm assuming for the interview some version of suit with nice shirt will be expected - but for the socials, I'm completely lost. Any help would be appreciated. (I'm interviewing for family and emerg, if that makes a difference) Thanks!
Renin
Comfortable, but professional. Think first date; not first interview. Don't show up with old jeans and worn t-shirt. Seen it happen. Not good.
rmorelan
ha I see you are back to your old role as our style consultant Absolutely - semi formal I suppose, really it depends on the site. You can always ask the residents as well - they have no desire for an applicant to feel awkward at the socials. They are trying to impress you as much as you are trying to impress them. anxious_101
I'll be flying back from afternoon interview in my suit for social that evening. Maybe get rid of tie. Smooth.
hkmedic
Are you a guy or a girl? Emerg socials are very casual, but of course, as Renin said, don't show up in worn out clothes. No need for "semi formal". Skinny jeans or other fashionably colored skinny pants and a nice top will do. Some girls wore skirts, but it will be quite cold in most parts of Canada... My friend and I went to Club Monaco and bought a few items together prior to the interviews/socials.
Tdizzle
How about evening social for Anesthesia, specifically at western? Anyone have any ideas?
A-Stark
It's a formal-ish dinner, so suits and/or reasonably conservative is the way to go (unless they've changed it).
peachy
Something you feel comfortable in is the most important. We hold our social on the evening after the interviews, and most people don't change and just wear their interview suit.
