<title>Dal Horror Story!</title>

<pagetext>I'm a senior in high school, and began contemplating a career in medicine after working with some of the residents in the hospital over the summer. I've always done level 1 and AP (Advanced Placement courses), am excellent at English, and have a geniune interest in Sciences. In short, I'm a smart girl. However, I left high school for two years after becoming bored and instead worked for a funeral service and at our hospital... I eventually came around and realized I needed to go back to school, and I'm doing better now than ever. I realize I'm not exactly the traditional cookie-cutter high school student, but I never imagined my decision to leave and come back would affect me again. However, last week one of my teachers told our class a horror story about a friend of his who applied to Med at Dal and, after his interview, was turned down because the admissions people found out he had failed a Science class back in eighth grade. I was terrified! If an eighth grade course could be held against him, surely my decision to "drop out" would be too...

 

I've done quite a bit of reading on most aspects of med school, and I do think this story is slightly shady... I would love someone to verify that for me and clear up my fears.
