Do bursaries affect tuition tax credit?

Out of financial curiosity - If you received bursaries in med school from your school and it was paid to your student account (towards your tuition), does it decrease your tuition tax credits since you weren't the one paying that portion of tuition?

It does not. Scholarships and bursaries are non-taxable, although still need to reported to CRA for informational purposes. You would still be eligible to claim the full tuition amount.

Having worked previously in personal and corporate tax law :)
