  1. I'm personally someone that bought into the whole Mac trend... They're more expensive than they should be, but I've used a Mac for the last ~6 or so years and I prefer it to PC when it comes to schoolwork. They also tend to be pretty straightforward and difficult to mess up (save for dropping it). If you're looking for more "bang for your buck", a PC might be better for you, but again it's all up to you. (As a sidenote: at this point I would find it difficult to believe that there might be programs you'd need that aren't compatible with both Mac and PC). Also depends on what you like in size - even with an education discount you'd be limited to 11"- 13" Macbooks should you choose that route. (That being said Apple also offers some great refurbished Macs as well!) I think both options are honestly pretty good - I would to to the apple store / microsoft store to try some of the products out to see what you think! I've tutored people with the Surface, and it looked SICK (aesthetically and in terms of function). EDIT: Check out this website to determine when might be a good time to buy if you're looking for a Mac.
  2. I'm not currently a student - but do you have a budget? What kind of things are you looking for in a computer? (Ie. What kind of notetaker are you? Would you benefit from being able to write your notes on a tablet?) What kind of things do you intend on running?
  3. Result: Accepted GPA: 3.95 MCAT: 516 (129 CARS) ECs: A lot of very unconventional things (I did a lot of Marketing and Graphic Design work with my Undergraduate Society, and oversaw the Marketing Division's committees and budget), Autism Research for 2 summers, etc. I think the only thing that might be considered very medicine related was a volunteer trip to Nepal. Otherwise pretty unconventional I think? If you're interested in specifics, just PM me. Year: 3rd Year UG Geography: IP Interview: Definitely thought I absolutely bombed at least 2 of the stations, wasn't expecting much! Congratulations!

Otherwise pretty unconventional I think? If you're interested in specifics, just PM me. Year: 3rd Year UG Geography: IP Interview: Thought it went pretty well, but I didn't practice with a diverse group of individuals so I'm not really sure how I measure up.
  5. Haha, for sure! It's stressful thinking about it because I haven't heard from my verifiers yet. Let's not speculate - it'll just stress everyone out more. It's going to be fine - nothing any of us can do now. Just gotta sit tight for a few more days!
  6. As frostycappucino mentioned it doesn't seem like having a verifier contacted is an indicator of anything. They had a verifier contacted and they didn't get in. And it doesn't make sense for everyone who got in to not have verifiers contacted, so it seems as though it's just random. (I'd assume as much with the exception of files that might have flags on them)
  7. The first station being the introductory one? If that's the case I think it's fine - it's not marked and just used as a way to help calm your nerves before your other stations! If you're referring to the same station the rest of us are referring to (assuming we're all talking about the same one) then I'm sure it's fine. If there was this much confusion and ambiguity, then we're all in a very similar boat and I don't think that should be an indicator of you doing the wrong thing!
  8. Yeah after he didn't really answer my questions I just kind of went with it so I guess we'll have to see how it went haha.
  9. I can understand the ambiguity... My interviewer just kept saying "um" and repeating the prompt when I asked different open ended questions, so I wasn't sure if they were trying to play a character or if they genuinely didn't know how to answer. Ie. Do you speak to the interviewer and have a back and forth conversation, or do you "talk at them". Does that make sense?
  10. Oh my gosh - I didn't realize you were the infamous Ghoststalker bahahah I was in your A6 group today. On another note - I thought there were a good mix of interviewers. The med student interviewers were absolutely amazing. I had one interviewer who wouldn't make any eye contact, but other than that I thought it was an interesting mix.
