OB/GYN 4th year electives/CARMS process

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone could share some of their advice/thoughts regarding setting up OB/GYN electives, particularly as an Ontario medical student. Specifically, has anyone experienced any really positive or negative electives? How many pre-carms electives seems standard?

Also, the CARMS website indicates requiring an undergrad transcript for many OB/GYN residency programs. Has anyone been asked about undergraduate marks during interviews?

For my first elective, the attending refused to give me a LOR, stating my knowledge was insufficient. This did not happen for my 2nd elective. I got my interview, undergrad grades were never brought up by anybody on the Panel and although I considered myself a competitive candidate (along with all the other 40 Interviewees for just 3 residency spots), I was not selected. However, I was for a competitive surgical specialty which I just love. This was not in Ontario.
