Numbers could go up if the drive to create a high ratio of residency spots to medical students continues although if they were to go up I would expect the added spots to be mainly in fields that were already given more spots this year. From an absolute perspective, numbers despite the cuts in Ontario have remained fairly stable, most specialties stayed with 10% of the number of spots they had 3 years ago.
