drager
Hi, I wanted to ask if its necessary to maintain a high GPA in grad school. I'm little overwhelmed with my masters and I dont want to sacrifice my mental health.

McMaster doesn't look at your Grad GPA at all, just giving you a bonus in pre-interview decision. I think it's the same for UofT: they just put you in a different applicant pool. But I'm not sure about other schools so I'd check with each to make sure before I let my GPA go drager
spotsanddots
OOP schools, like Dalhousie and Calgary, evaluate grad school grades. Mental health is important, brotha. Get the support you need, and the rest will fall into place. drager
bearded frog
You should also be getting a letter(s) of recommendation from your grad school supervisor/advisors, so they might comment on your performance. drager
drager
Thanks Y'all. I'll be checking the relevant medical school's GPA calculations. But yea, after going through undergrad, I really want to keep my mental health in check. drdaydream
drdaydream
Take care of yourself friend! Your health is always priority. Again every school is different in how they will evaluate you, so look into individual school requirements. Please also check out some resources on campus that can support you, whether it's through accessibility services, counselling, etc. Good luck with your Masters.
