Competency Assessment

This year, a one-way competency assessment will replace the traditional interview portion. Has anybody encountered a competency assessment before? It doesn't seem to be a common approach for medical school admissions.

Where does it say that a one-way competency assessment will be used? The website still indicates that there is a traditional interview this year.
