litty
Hi everyone! I had a question regarding which device to use for the virtual MMI. I noticed on the Technical Information PDF UBC just sent out, it says to not use a tablet, and I have a surface pro 6 that I always use for zoom. I'm going to email UBC about this to confirm, but in the mean time did any current students use a surface pro for their interview and if so, how was your experience with it? Brockolli911
Hey! I use a surface pro as well. Never even thought it may be a problem. please post what you find out :-) im confident it is fine but certainly worth confirming!
kronos
When they say tablet, they mean iPad or a Amazon Fire or something similar. For all intents and purposes, the Surface Pro is the same as a traditional laptop as it runs a full version of Windows.

UBC actually did reply and said "We recommend against using tablets (including surface pro's) because of system compatibility issues with the browser version of Zoom which is different from the app." But I did hear from one previous applicant that they didn't have a problem using their surface pro last year!
