medschoolproofreader
First-year Medicine here. Anyone else finding it really hard to find opportunities for summer research work? I'd love to make a little money doing some research. I have a Master's, and I'm flexible on where I'd do it. Does anyone have any advice about paid programs or opportunities for medical students that take place during the summer? Thanks in advance! robclem21
These are usually advertised through your medical school. Alternatively, you could search for summer research positions on some of the hospital websites.
dragoncat
In my experience, most supervisors are very willing to help medical students find research opportunities, especially if you already have some experience. I would suggest approaching someone who works in the area of research you are interested in. If they don't have a project for you, they will probably know a colleague who does. A simple and polite cold email with your CV attached also goes a long way. I got my most rewarding and productive project from cold emailing a few people and the right person responding. Good luck!
