Would any current residents in southern Ontario (Toronto, Hamilton, Kingston) be able to shed some light on cost of living in their respective cities? Particularly interested in the rental situation in Toronto. I've looked at some listings so far, they kinda scare me, but would really, really appreciate hearing about your thoughts on whether living in downtown Toronto (say, sharing an apartment with roommates) is an affordable option on a resident's salary. Thank you so much! Hamilton is also not friendly rent wise. The more luxurious the condo/appt, the higher it’s going to be near the low 2000s. Also closer to downtown the more it usually is. If you live in the suburbs on the mountain it’s going to be in the mid to high teens. Parking not a super big problem to get. Kingston is high for what you’d expect but definitely the lowest of the 3, unless you’re away from the city core then closer to 1500 for solo appts. Parking in the core is the biggest luxury of all. And Toronto is… well Toronto. TheDarkAges
