broclivity44
Hi there — Im an FM PGY2 interested in potentially moving to Calgary for personal and family reasons but know little about what its like to practice FM in Alberta and what the opportunities are like. Id like to do prinarily community FM clinic with potentially some part time hospitalist work. Ill be honest, when I was a med student (in a diff province) I heard about how it may not be good to practice primary care there and that many FM docs leaving Alberta for that reason. Can anyone who currently practices there shed light on some of these concerns? Is this true or is it overblown? And what are the opportunities like currently in Calgary/compensation models like? Thank you, very much appreciated!!
