Are you a mouth-breather or a nose-breather?

Hello,

Since we had a topic on facecloths, I want to know through which human orifice you breathe, the mouth or the nose.

And how about when you sleep?

FYI, it came up at the dinner table today. Most of the people present (including myself) were nose-breathers.

However, on a side note, I used to be a mouth-breather as kid and then switched around 4 years because I buckled to peer pressure. Also, I noticed that my mouth and lips weren't as dry.

Now, if only I can stop lickin my lips...

Interesting question.... the topic caught my eye because when I first went to the orthodontist 14 years ago now (gasp!) one of the first things they noted on my little chart was that I am a "mouth-breather."

I notice myself doing both about 50/50 because I have an orthodontic "alignment" problem... my upper and lower jaws do not align, therefore my mouth is always slightly open by default, thus allowing more opportunity to breath through it.
