Guest Ian Wong
Hi all, Here's a quick questionnaire regarding the admissions process at UBC. We ran this questionnaire last year, and I'd like to keep it going on an annual basis so we can generate some profiles of applicants who have been accepted, rejected, or placed on a waitlist for each school. If you are applying this year, please take a few minutes to fill out the below questions. Please keep all replies focussed as answers to the below; I will delete any non-answers in this thread. If you have any questions, please start a new thread so that this one stays on topic. Please check out the big thread in the General Premed Forum as well to let us know which schools accepted you, and which ones waitlisted you or rejected you: pub125.ezboard.com/fpremed101frm0.showMessage?topicID=648.topic If you can copy and paste the below form, and fill it out, that'd be awesome. If you want to contribute your GPA and MCAT stats in addition, that's great too. ------ I'm a (Province) resident in (undergraduate or graduate) studies. My GPA was (XYZ) and my MCAT scores were: Physical Sciences: (x) Verbal: (y) Biological Sciences: (z) Written Sample: (z) I was (accepted/rejected/waitlisted) by UBC. This is my (first/second/third/more than third) time applying to this school. Of all the schools I applied to, I'd like to attend (XYZ Med School) as my first choice. ------ Ian

Guest erikvenos
maybe he's not talking about the well known Princeton in the states but the one in Europe. I heard that one was rivals Oxford and Cambridge as one of the top schools.
Guest er
er.....there's also no such college in England by this name also......
Guest UWOMED2005
Yeah, and the top medical schools in Europe aren't Oxford and Cambridge. Stop being so Anglo-centric. They're La Sorbonne (Paris. . . btw it's a city in France. I'm kind of wondering if some of the people posting in this thread realize that ) and Heidelburg (Germany,) at least according to the Gourman report. Of course noone here cares about such rankings. . . Europe has just brought in new regulations allowing doctors trained at any school in Europe to work in pretty much any hospital in Europe, language dependent. Or so I've been told. Seems that someone is getting their ideas of which schools are best from pop culture.
Guest kencork3
Also, anyone serious about US medical schools or US universities in general knows that its JohnS Hopkins University Often mistakenly called John Hopkins by the unknowing. unless it was a typo...unlikely, but you never know I suppose. Guest xanth
I'm a BC and Alberta resident in undergraduate studies (just graduated from UBC). My average was about 90% over the past three years. Can't really remember my MCAT scores. This was my second time applying (I applied last year as a third-year student and was rejected!) UBC and U of C were my top choices (also applied to Queens' and U of T). I was accepted by both U of C and UBC, and will probably decline UBC's offer.
