I have a question for the folks that have been accepted to Wayne. I received an e-mail from AMCAS informing me that I will be receiving an e-mail from certiphi for a criminal background check about 2 days after my Wayne call-in date.

 

But it's been almost 2 months since my acceptance and the call-in date but I have not received an e-mail from certiphi...is anyone else in the same predicament?

Yes, I've been accepted at Wayne since November and have yet to receive the Certiphi email. I wouldn't worry about it until May.

Cornell's last interview is next week, and then acceptance/rejection emails will be sent first week of March.

That's one of my concern is if I get accepted to a Canadian school and a US school, which one should I pick. We are talking about almost 50000 US dollars of difference per year, that's like 200,000 for 4 years. A lot of debt.

I don't really have a top choice. There's a handful of schools I absolutely loved (including Vanderbilt and Hopkins), but all pretty much equally. If I get more than one acceptance from them I'll have a lot of thinking to do. But the schools I liked are all super selective so I'm not expecting any more offers.

Still, can't believe it. Their call-in date was today. I'm going to be a doctor! It's been a very long journey for me. I've been working for the past few years as an engineer, while trying for medicine every application cycle. My perseverence finally paid off.
