US Medical Student/Canadian Citizen to clerkship in america

sorry to bother u guys agin,

a friend of mine (studyin medicine) at albert einstein just told me that university made him go back to canada for his clerkship?!?

i was just shocked

i mean.. if he's forced to go back for his residency, it might be understandable given his nationality... but clerkship?

but shouldnt they allow him to do this clerkship in us since he's studyin med in an us med school currently >_<

Yes of course. But I think he CHOSE to do his 4th year ELECTIVES in Canada. You can pick and choose where to do your 4th year electives anywhere in the world. He could've ended up in Africa if he wanted to.
