looking
Does anyone know how Ottawa distinguishes between being from the Ottawa region? I have been living here for a couple of years, but did not grow up here or go to high school here, so I'm just wondering if I qualify ...

Nishi
If u have lived in Ottawa for at least two (or it may be three) years, you are considered being from the Ottawa region. Your permanent address must be listed from Ottawa. Hope that helps
tarzan_55
weird, i always thought it was if you had completed the bulk of your EC's on your 48 sketch in ottawa itself - only then you were considered an in ottawa applicant...big issue, cause being recognized as an "in ottawa" applicant is a huge advantage! Nishi
I guess that would make sense as well, to look at your auto-sketch to see where activities take place. For people who have gone to school in Ottawa, it's a lot easier to verify that someone isn't just using an Ottawa mailing address to be considered an Ottawa resident. But for people who have not gone to school here, then looking at something like the sketch would make sense, as someone with a Ottawa mailing address, but an entire application filled with activities from Toronto, may raise some eyebrows as to whether the person *is* in fact from Ottawa.
