militaryMDhopeful
Can anyone provide me with recommendations for textbooks for Medical Foundation (MF) 1 - 5, Professional Skills, and Professional Competencies. I will be starting at McMaster University at the end of August and any help that you can provide would be greatly appreciated. For MF 1, I was thinking of the following: (1) Clinical Anatomy. 7th Edition. Richard S. Snell. (2) Textbook of Medical Physiology (with Student Consult) 11th Edition. Guyton Arthur C. For professional skills I was thinking of: (3) Mosby's Guide to Physical Examination 2006 (Henry M. Seidel). Thoughts?
up doc
I'm not sure that I can help you with your specific courses, but I know that as as far as clinical skills, bates guide to clinical skills has served me well. Its a larger text, so you may also consider picking up a smaller more portable text. Also, you won't find these in the syllabus, but you should check out the "ridiculously easy" set of texts. I have found the clinical anatomy and neuroanatomy ones to be especially useful ("clinical anatomy made ridiculously easy". Good Luck.
