KennethToronto
Ok...I think I completely screwed up my login setup and I can't find this in their information booklet... So for LORs, is it from three individuals? Do my referees have to jump through special hoops like other Canadian schools or is it just a letter? Michelle
From the information booklet (Section 4.3.1 Page 4 of6): Applicants who have met the standards of the AGPA and MCAT and who are likely to be competitive are invited for an interview. It then states that the Ad Com will contact the three referees of all applicants who are Manitoba residents directly, in November. Only referees of OOP applicants selected for an interview will be contact, in January. They don't specify what exactly the referees have to do in terms of letters, hoops, etc.
keith_015
Your three referees are sent a letter, for IP in Nov, and OOP (if they are chosen for an interview) in Jan I think. From experience of applying in the past, all the references have to do is send back a letter. No hoops to jump through.
xylem29
Interesting. I think that manitoba should just catch up with the rest of the schools and have a comprehensive on-line application program like OMSAS or at least like Calgary's. Hands down - OMSAS and AMCAS are the easiest and most logical on-line systems to use. I give Calgary thumbs up for having their letters of recommendation component on-line - this way, the referees are contacted via email and fill out an assessment online as well as submit the traditional letter on line.
