I can't even apply yet (I'm in grade 10 ) but honestly, I wait anxiously to hear if you guys got in! eek! Ottawa is probably my first choice med school, so you guys who get in have to report to me what its like XD I can understand your enthusiasm...but grade 10 is definitely too early to be picking your "first choice" of med school! So much can change about the curriculum/facilities of every school in the next 5-6 years before you can even apply, so I'd keep an eye on every school if I were you. We had our pre-clerkship OSCE tonight, complete with enough stress and pressure to deter even the keenest of keeners from medicine It was pretty good all things considered, although the beer and conversation with the class afterwards at the Royal Oak near Pretoria bridge was much more fun. Are they sent at the same time? Thanks Yeah - Ottawa (and most other schools) will send you a response regardless. The possibilities are usually accepted, on the waitlist, or on the waitlist + seek alternate plans (often called the "bad" waitlist). As for timing, I think the waitlist ones *may* have been sent out a little bit later last year, but not by much. I can't say for sure though. In any case, good luck tomorrow!!! You're almost there!! everyoneloveschem Posted May 14, 2008 Report Share Posted May 14, 2008 Whoa there folks! I've been where you were a couple times. If you do not get in, it is not the end of the world. Like a lot of the really big things in life (marriage, children, buying a brand new car, etc), it is both a blessing and a curse. Trust me... So try and enjoy where you're at, whether that is at home with your parents (lucky you, that you have living parents, and a family who you like to be around), by yourself, accepted, waiting or rejected. Sure, easy for me to say, right?, because I'm on the other side. Well that's the point! Getting into medical school has not made my life any more or less perfect, it has just changed it.
