Menactra Vaccine

As I was making sure my vaccines were up to date for starting med school, my family doc suggested I get the Meningitits vaccine, called Menactra. This isn't one of the required vaccines by the school and costs 144$ off the shelf (I believe my drug plan will cover 80%). Has this vaccine been recommeneded to anyone else? I'm just trying to figure out if the drug rep to my family doc was just a good salesperson or whether meningitis is a legitimate concern for health care workers.

The director of our medical's school's immunization program says that unless we're in a high-risk group, Menactra is not recommended. Even if we're health care workers, and even if it's covered by our insurance.
