That's why being a grad student and getting $100 worth of printing from your university is always such an advantage!!! lol. Now, that's 100$ per year. And for 100$.... well, you can print tons (depending on how much it is to print per page).

hahaha...when I was in the same province as my lab, I was printing all the time for 'free'...we did not have to pay a printer fee but boy oh boy did the departmental printer go through tons of paper and toner :D

I had to suck it up and buy a printer when I moved during thesis writing. I still think it was a good investment.

At my school the grad students got free printing as well, but the printer was crappy and most ended up paying the regular 10cents/page that everyone else had to pay. Funny enough, one of the first things a grad student said to me in the new lab I'll be working in is "Our printer's awesome. Best one on this floor. And it's totally free." Yay. lol

Hahahaha... Yeah, my friend told me about it. He didn't use up his credit, so he was like "I'm going to go on a **** load of printing over the next 2 months...." lol. Thankfully, we have a printer in our lab. But I would be ashamed to print a load of crap on it. So I just print little things like small journal articles.... sometimes essays...lol... I don't know if my new lab will have a normal printer. I guess I'll have to wait and see.

Got this for my gf, it is an excellent laser

Toner is usually on sale for $50 at the big B&M stores (2000 prints) and you can get them for $20 at the smaller online stores

Awesome. :) That's one of the printers I've been looking at - thanks for letting me know your experience. :)

Survived. Day 1. Clerkship.

And didn't fall asleep :D

Woooo! I'm going to follow your clerkship experience as a real time reference of clerkship experience. :D

Lots of old saggy people I presume? lol

Yeah, I almost had to close my eyes

I just woke up. New record? Maybe. But I woke up a couple of times during the night - bad dreams. I always have someone either chasing me or looking for me. LOL. It scares the living crap out of me.

I absolutely love interior decorating. I think I'm going to purchase a book on it.

But anyways... I'm becoming nervous about next week. There's more than one big thing happening. It's screwing with my head. lol. But I'm all packed. YAY :D

Edit: Oh yesssss.... US Open is on and I'm soooooooooo excited! Watched Federer play yesterday - he was taking an aggressive approach. Love Federer when he's aggressive on court. lol.

I am not used to rain (and don't really like rain) and am now living in Vancouver. I will be so happy to go home, even if it is -30 when I get there.

I grew up in Van and I remember being anxious about going into -30. But once I experienced it I realized it's way better than 1 deg and rain!

 I'd rather have 1C and rain over -30C ANY day. The past four years in Munich, winters were very mild - hovering around zero, with lots of rain. I absolutely LOVED it. :) So much better than horrible Ottawa winters!

Needless to say, I'm not looking forward to my first Edmonton winter. -40C. Brrr. :( Well, at least it's dry, and not damp.

I just had an angry argument with my university's finance department over the phone. I was trying to figure out why I was invoiced with all these random charges. Turns out, they had my account confused with someone else's, even though I kept telling the person who I was and was answering all her questions with stuff that only I would know. She kept insisting that I was lying and that I was really some guy in journalism. Best part of the conversation was when she said "Listen mister, I've been doing this job for 20 years and making your voice sound higher pitched and feminine isn't going to work with me. Use your regular voice please." So I hung up. I'll call again tomorrow since she told me that's when her boss is in the office.
