Kentucky Fried Blaziken
Hi everyone, Recently I've been considering changing my concentration in life sciences at Queen's to something else with more flexibility in terms of core courses. I've completed first year and have taken Orgo in the summer, so as far as MCAT preparations go, I believe I don't gain further benefit by staying in the program. So, I've been wondering, is there any distinct advantages with regards to med school applications if one is in life science? if there isn't, then why are so many premeds in life science? tl;dr : wants to switch out of life sci to sumthing easier, doesnt noe if being in life sci helps med application. rmorelan
I think the main reason for so many is its a bit of self fulfilling prophecy. Tons of people go into it, leaving the bread crumbs for others to follow Plus 1) Usually it is not an impossible to get high marks program (unlike some others) 2) Covers the prereqs for all schools 3) Covers the MCAT material But it is more than possible to go into anything else. It doesn't really affect you that much in any case.
