:P I won then!

(so I win again!!! :P)

Btw, I heard orgo chem @ UWO had a class average of 88 in a test recently.

*shakes head*

ever thought I just let you win because I feel bad about how sad and depressed you must be to not be at Western? :P

I think that average is an atrocious lie, if any thing, I think orgo has only gotten harder since I took it. (and the average then was in the 70s I believe)

there, there, a 60 is a good grade too :D

And in terms of diversity, if your friend means there's no Chinese restaurant right around the corner, he/she would be right but in terms of people, you friend must be doing TOO much studying if he/she doesn't see any people from diverse backgrounds haha.

You know... this whole "western" Ontario thing always confused me... we're not west... we're south...

Errrr.... SO ... back on topic... my friend got an interview at Wayne state the other day.... ;)

Its a relaxed interview, no ethics questions, only questions about your application and maybe why medicine, why wayne questions. Make sure you arrive in detroit during the daytime and quickly get to wherever your planning on staying. I recommend their student hosting program because its very close to the place where u will interview and the students can help you get there. good luck

thanks for the advice!! i'm glad it's relaxed. i'm mainly concerned about questions regarding US vs. canadian health care systems...any suggestions as to what i should read up on besides the current reform issue? also, what was your general impression of the school?

University of Western Ontario:

80% and up = A = 4.0

70-79 = B = 3.0

60-69 = C = 2.0

50-59 = D = 1.0

70 average and 80 is 4.0???

For those of you who interviewed at NYMC, what was it like? What should I expect? Also, what is the tuition at NYMC, I can't find it on the website :S

Thanks!

Good luck to everyone :)

I didn't apply because the pony up at the beginning for all 4 years of tuition is daunting, not to mention expensive when interest is applied on the whole amt for four years rather than progressive.

Nonetheless, a quick google search and http://www.nymc.edu/Academics/SchoolOfMedicine/Admissions/SpecialSituations.html

Read under Int'l. The approx tuition and fees is $175k.

I interviewed at NYMC when I was applying in 01. They had a new anatomy lab then (I guess not so new now). The 1st two years though were in Valhalla, about 45 minutes away from NYC, although the last two years were in the city. It's an ok school I guess, but it's mostly a backup school for people who couldn't get in to another school (e.g., Californians forced to go out of state because they couldn't get into a UC).

Wow, I did not know they were STILL giving out interviews. I have a couple of friends who interviewed at Dartmouth, they both really enjoyed it. Apparently the hospitals are really nice.

I guess it's whether if you would go to Dartmouth over any of the other schools you.... (i.e. Dartmouth is in the middle of nowhere and is ranked lower, if it means anything to you, than Northwestern which also happens to be in Chicago.... ;) )

Dartmouth is still issuing invites until Mid-March. I haven't heard anything yet, but according to their admissions staff, "no news is good news" as they do issue rejections pre-interview. Hopefully I will hear something soon too!

P.S. Emcd I would love to take that invite spot from you if you don't want it ;)...just kidding lol
