iwonder
Hello, I'm sure this questions is quite redundant but here goes. I am interested in Family Medicine and am currently looking into electives. Just wondering if I should take four weeks to do a family medicine elective or take my elective time to do other specialties and appear more diverse when applying? Thanks!! moo
Do derm and ophthal. A rural elective can't hurt either. If you're planning on doing hospital work, a radiology elective would be useful.
crush
I think you should do at least 2-4 weeks elective in family medicine though - or else when you apply I would guess that they would doubt your commitment to family medicine! Over and above this 2-4 weeks, I'd assume that anything goes.
