plasticookies
UPDATE: Just received an email one minute ago. Accepted to SMP! Not my first or second choice, but I am 99% sure I will accept it later today (after I talk to my girlfriend about moving). Good luck everyone! There's still hope! Congrats, but is that it for today? cheeseshredder
Hey everyone, haven't posted in awhile. Got in off the waitlist at the same time as Ace. Surprised since their office is closed at that time. SMP too, neither my first or second choice. I think what happened is that they gave the open VFMP spots to successful applicants that did not initially get their first choice. Maybe someone can confirm since I know there are a bunch of you guys on this forum.
Mithril
What they do is that they rank everyone 1 to however many people were interviewed. The top 288 people are sent to their first or second choice. If someone is in the top 288 and there is no seat to his/her first or second choice, that person is offered a spot at a campus where there are seats available. Ranks 289 and above are waitlisted up to the first "rejection rank". After the initial declining and accepting of offers, waitlisted people are offered sites according to their first and second choices. If the first and second choices of that waitlisted person are full, they're offered a spot at a campus where there's a spot available. That's how Dr. Finkler explained it at the post-interview orientation after the essay station. They told us not to play the numbers game because everyone ranked 1-288 will be offered a spot. It may not be their first or second choice, but they will be offered a spot somewhere.

sfu.project
Accepted off the WL today -to SMP, which was my first choice. I'll be accepting, but U of C is still my No.1 - holding out hope for an offer from them, in which case I'll give up my UBC spot. So thankful to get an offer - hang in there WL-ers! plasticookies
I've heard that they are separate. Yep, since they only take 29 oop. Confirmed with admissions.

The Ace of Spades
How many people are taken off the waitlist usually? If previous years are any indication, I would say between 20-25.
Radiologist in Training
I guess the first wave of waitlist offers were out yesterday (first and largest wave). Probably means that we can only expect 3 or 4 more people max to move in the upcoming weeks imo. Does that sound about right?
Mithril
It varies year to year. There's no point stressing over it since you don't know your position on the waitlist.
Chantalle47
I just got accepted to IMP off the waitlist, however I will be declining in favour of U of A. I don't know if that helps you, as I'm an OOP student, but at least it'll open up a spot for someone.
omgwut123
Just an FYI but I declined UBC yesterday for Calgary. Congrats to the next person on the waitlist - UBC will be an awesome program! are you ip or oop? thanks

Chantalle47
Me! Hopefully I haven't declined at UBC yet because I really want to get my U of A forms and criminal record check handed in first- I'm paranoid that if I decline at UBC I'm going to somehow screw up the U of A forms and then I won't have anywhere to go! So I'll try and do that quickly for you -Alright, I have officially declined! Best of luck!
