Healthy, Cheap Student Recipes

If you go to Chapters/Indigo, you can find quite a few cookbooks geared towards students and people living alone - with less complex recipes, cheaper ingredients, and smaller portions. And then you can leaf through them, pick a book you like, and go buy a cheap used one on Amazon because you're a smart shopper.:P

Meatloaf, turkey loaf, chicken loaf with mashed is cheap and can be made in bulk, portioned and frozen (minus the mash part).

Ground beef and jasmine rice (again, can be made in bulk and frozen minus the rice)

Tuna on bagels

Eggs

Pasta with meat sauce (sauce can be made in bulk, portioned and frozen).

All that is cheap and can be made ahead of time. Would require like one half day of cooking to feed yourself for a month.

I love this site: http://www.soscuisine.com/. You can tailor everything (region, type of plan - and they have many, etc.) to your liking and every week you get your meal plan by email :)

You can also (amongst other things) browse tons of recipes, see what's on special and prepare a pdf list of the things you need to buy at the grocery store if ever you what to make a recipe or a list for your weekly meal plan.
