totallyawesome
So basically York is hoping that the contract faculty will cross their own union's picket lines?
Lola28
York is diabolical, I love it. Their strategic ploy worked. I heard the contract faculty can get into trouble for not going back to work since they are not on strike. But they can't force students to cross picket lines. aaronjw
I don't see the school returning to class until Unit 1 and 3 have ratified. Why? York's Senate policy on strike language outright states students cannot be forced to cross picket lines and that if they don't then they cannot be penalized. There will be some or a lot who won't so in essence there will be two teaching streams if classes are restarted which would make things a mess to deal with. bruhh
watch they change their senate policy tonight haha "screw ya'll, you gotta cross them picket lines"
Falling
I wonder what would happen to Biol2070 if they continued classes.
Falling
I like how U1/U3 are saying they got played. No. You lost. Anyone who didn't think this was a real possibility when the offer was presented is a fool.

Falling
I'm not convinced York would open classes. Too many classes rely on TAs. They could assume that some TAs would scab, but the penalties for doing that are severe.
aaronjw
I just don't see how they could mandate classes back when their own senate language says students can't be forced or penalized for not crossing pickets.

aaronjw
Not for me. Knowing I can't be academically penalized means I am not going until I am caught up even if they resume classes tomorrow

Falling
Senate policy says you get as long as you want lol Yeah, but I'd probably show up to the classes where the lecture slides mean nothing. I don't think they'll open the school. The decision is made by faculty members, not admin. I trust our faculty a lot more than I trust admin. Falling
Apparently senate has made their decision, but won't announce until 530 am. I hate this school so much. aaronjw
